Hebrew is the main Language of the Old Testament-A small portion is written in Aramaic of the Babylonians.

Both Hebrew and Aramaic languages belongs to the Semitic Language from Shem descendant of Noah.


The Jews spoke Hebrew until time of Babylonians captivity, at that time they began speaking Aramaic also. They spoke Aramaic then until the time Alexander the great who conquered the land from that time on, their commercial language was Greek, although they spoke Aramaic and Hebrew as well.
